Our vision for Le Grappin is to make wines from special sites in the over-looked, under-appreciated reaches of Burgundy and Beaujolais. We work with passionate growers who tend their vines thoughtfully, with exceptional care and attention, to give the sites the best opportunity to shine.More
Le Grappin began in 2011 following Andrew’s five-year journey working for some of the world's great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay artisans in California, Central Otago, Burgundy and the Yarra Valley. Our aim is to seek out special sites in the over-looked, under-appreciated reaches of Beaujolais and Burgundy. We find viticulteurs who tend their vines throughout the year with exceptional care and attention, to give the grapes the best opportunity to shine. Our job is to ensure the wine reaches it's true potential; working by hand, with small lots, giving each wine as much care and attention as our viticulteurs have paid to the vines.
Our Du Grappin wines are a natural off-shoot from Le Grappin; vins de soif, made to be delicious, fun and refreshing. We source our grapes from the passionate and revolutionary growers in the under-rated Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions. We make them by hand in our ancient cuverie in the walls of Beaune, with as much care and attention as with our Le Grappin wines. The results are wines with vivacity and personality; a joy to drink
We are also very passionate about the ethical packaging of wine. That is why we don’t finish our bottles with a tin capsule, an affectation from times past, and our Du Grappin wines are available by refillable bottle, 100% recyclable Bag-in-Box or #Bagnum. #Bagnums keep our wine fresh and smashable for weeks, saving both the environment (up to 80% lower carbon emissions than glass packaged wines) and your wallet.
In past year we have been named one of the “Top 25 Négociant Winemakers in Burgundy” by Tim Atkin MW and hailed as one of ten “Next Stars of Burgundy” by Jon Bonné. Our convenient and eco friendly #Bagnums have been recommended by Jancis Robinson, Victoria Moore, The Telegraph, Nick Curtis, Evening Standard, Helen McGinn, Daily Mail and The Sunday Times “Going Up” column. Our wines can be found at some of the UK’s best restaurants including newly opened Frenchie Covent Garden, along with other killer lists such as Primeur, The Remedy, Brunswick House, Ox in Belfast and Fera at Claridge’s.
