Producer Spotlight: Bristol Beer Factory
A Taste of Independence
After over two years of chasing and hoping to be able to sell the beers from the amazing Bristol Beer Factory, we've finally managed to get their beers! To celebrate, we thought we'd tell you more about the brewery, and why we were so desperately keen to sell them!

Bristol Beer Factory started life in 2004 brewing just a few standard cask conditioned ales in a vibrant part of south Bristol. They soon realised that there is so much more to brewing, many more styles of beer to try so their range has now developed into a huge number of beers in bottle, cask and keg. They are not afraid to try anything and the company has a firm belief that all the great ideas are already within the four walls of the brewery – it’s just a matter of extracting them out of the team within.

With Bristol Beer Factory it really is all about the beer. They love what they do, they love to drink it and love to experiment and you can tell this in their beers. At over ten years old, they are one of the first breweries in the UK "Craft Beer Revolution" and have been a critical part of the growth of the UK beer scene. And with that, onto the beers...
Milk Stout
Synonymous with Bristol Beer Factory, and surely their most famous beer, regularly mentioned as the leading example of the style. Has won pretty much every award in the book including CAMRA Champion Winter Beer of Britain and SIBA National Champion Bottled Stout.
Acer
Refreshing, hoppy session ale. This low ABV beer punches well above its weight. Golden in colour and powerfully hopped, this is a giant for its strength. We use Columbus for bitterness, and a big late addition of Sorachi Ace to give an intriguing aroma dominated by bright lemon citrus with notes of dill & coconut.
Seven
Premium amber ale. Traditional English Best Bitter. Toffee malt flavours from Maris Otter malt, the King of barley balanced by traditional English Fuggles hops, which give a smooth hop bitterness and aroma. The Bristol Beer Factory seamlessly blends the modern and historical. Tried and trusted styles of beer with modern interpretations, brewed in a hundred year old brewery building that harks back to an industrial age gone by. Brewed within the City of Bristol using traditional methods of infusion mashing and top fermenting yeast.
Hefe
German style wheat beer. A German-style Wheat Beer, with a rich banana & clove aroma, it pours with a thick rocky head and has a hazy orange appearance. Zippy & zesty, with banana, bubble gum & hints of grapefruit, it's a very refreshing beer perfect for a sunny day.
Gold
Premium golden ale. A premium Golden Ale, refreshing & moreish with a beautiful balance of biscuity malt & citrus hops. The English Pioneer hops give a bitter citrus taste and aroma.
Independence
Heavily hopped American pale ale. Our distinctive American Pale Ale is full of big hop character but without the strong bitterness. Carefully selected American hops are added continuously during the boil, and also during conditioning (dry hopping) to give a really fresh aromatic boost. This beer is mainly about hops but we have given it a malt backbone to balance the beautiful tropical fruit aromas.
Southville Hop
Heavily hopped IPA. This American inspired IPA is powerfully hopped with Cascade, Centennial & Simcoe hops packing it with tropical fruit aromas & flavours. Attractively amber in colour, it is a big strong beer to balance all those hops.
Ultimate Stout
Strong stout with a twist. This is our Ultimate Stout, strong black, unctuous and delicious. Hints of coffee, chocolate & dark fruits, made using a Belgian yeast & roasted malts.
