The fourth vintage of Sugrue Pierre 'The Trouble With Dreams' come from the 2013 harvest, again sourcing fruit from Storrington Priory Vineyard but importantly this is the first vintage where the majority of grapes come from the exceptional Mount Harry Vineyard, near Lewes in East Sussex.
A blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, more than half of this cuvee has spent time maturing in old Burgundian barrels, a typical feature of the Sugrue Pierre style which adds a creamy mouthfeel to the wonderful purity of fruit and finesse found in these Chardonnay-dominant wines.
"Full, with a delicious, opulent, creamy texture. The mouthwatering, sweet apple fruit on the palate is supported by a savoury, spicy note and a refreshing acidity. A great wine with a real purity of flavour and great, pithy mouthfeel. 96 points." Richard Hemming MW, Decanter Panel Tasting, August 2016.
